I couldn't believe my ears when I learnt of Amy Winehouse's passing yesterday. I was so shocked that such a fantastic talent could be gone so soon. It's absolutely devastating.
As a Londoner, I'm more than proud that Amy hailed from the place I call home. She truly paved the way for young, British, female, soul singers and made it easier to cross over to the US market without selling out. Amy's talent is undeniable and her music will live on forever.
Amy Winehouse, you're gone but you will never ever be forgotten.
Rest in peace.
